Dear Reader,
It’s Wednesday. Welcome to the twenty-seventh edition of 5 Boring Observations.
Last week’s poll - once as open as the prairies of yore - is now closed.
The observation found by this readership to be most boring was:
“People have slept.”
Boring, yes - but also super relatable. In making small talk, there’s no need to always turn to the weather. We, as a species, can afford to switch it up. “Sleep, am I right?” “How about this sleeping thing we all do?” Why shouldn’t ice-breakers like these find their way into everyday conversation?
A thank you to all who voted and shared thoughts in the comments.
Without further ado, here are this week’s 5 boring observations:
The left hand isn’t the right hand.
The day ends.
Instruction can occur indoors.
Representation takes various forms.
Business gets conducted.
Per tradition (and preference), this poll will be active for one week, if you need a bit of time to think. Other than that, there’s some housekeeping below, followed by one boring photo.
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Ikechukwu Ufomadu
Some Housekeeping:
Thank you to the good people of Kansas City and Chicago for making these last two rounds of Amusements a veritable hoot. Nothing in life quite hits the spot like making a good memory - and we made a few!
Here’s some upcoming shows, for the New Yorkers among you:
Wednesday, April 30th at 6pm - Just For Laughs Showcase at Westside Comedy Club
Thursday, May 1st at 10pm - The Dress Rehearsal at Union Hall
Sunday, May 18th at 8pm - An Evening of Music and Comedy at The Owl
Friday, May 23rd at 7pm - The Abolish Everything World Championship at Caveat
The photo is beautifully symmetrical, making it interesting to me, and thus not boring
"the left hand isnt the right hand" is actually extremely poetic
